Originally from Melbourne, Paul moved to Brisbane in 2004. Proudly born into a construction /engineering family, Paul is the son of the now retired Director of Land Engineering, (mid tier Civil Contractor) Lyle Gay and has grown up within the civil/commercial construction industry and his career has naturally progressed in this sector.

With over 15 years recruitment experience, Paul is a successful and seasoned professional recruiter specialising in construction management/engineering.

Having an extensive industry network of contacts formed over 10 years, a data base of over 15000 predominately Queensland candidates, and seeing a need and opportunity in the Queensland construction sector, Paul started Foundation Recruitment in 2007. The company has successfully operated through what some would describe as a very challenging market.

Paul’s 12 month contract with global construction firm Laing O’Rourke exposed him to internal recruitment. He found out first hand the challenges clients face in identifying and securing candidates and the some-times challenging internal processes that need to be adhered to.

Paul’s approach is to effectively partner with his clients and to actively consult for them. As every client has different requirements, Paul provides an individual tailored service to meet their needs. His strong relationships with clients and candidates alike are built on trust and his “straight up” and “non-fuss” approach has constantly resulted in repeat business. With a reputation for providing a “pragmatic approach” to recruitment, he continues to successfully source the right candidate for the right job!

Many of his values in business transition from his twenty five year AFL football career including many years as a senior player and a senior coach.

Andrew Morrison
Andrew MorrisonState Manager (VIC)
Andrew started his recruitment career at Foundation Recruitment in 2006, where he worked alongside Director, Paul Gay, specialising in the Civil and Commercial Construction industries.

Andrew relocated from Brisbane to Melbourne in 2009, and spent the following years in Senior Management roles in the education industry. Andrew has since re-joined our team at Foundation Recruitment, and has brought his wealth of recruitment and management experience to lead our operations in Melbourne as State Manager (VIC).

Throughout his career, Andrew has dealt with a broad range of private and government organisations. This ‘client side’ experience has provided Andrew with a well-rounded understanding of the recruitment process, recognising many of the variables that impact employers. This experience, combined with nearly 20 years of being directly involved with candidate interviews, has helped Andrew develop strong skills that enable him to understand and deliver on the individual needs of both clients and candidates.

As a Melbourne local and family man, Andrew enjoys nothing more than spending time at the beach with his wife and two young children, down on the Mornington Peninsula. A sports fanatic, Andrew also played AFL for over 20 years at State and local level.

Andrew enjoys working with organisations to secure the best available talent in the market and recognises the importance of timeliness, respect and the delivery of results as key fundamentals to his role. As a ‘people person’, Andrew also enjoys forming relationships when assisting individuals explore the employment market and further their careers.

Sarah-Jane Tate
Sarah-Jane TateBranch Manager
With over four years of successful recruitment experience, Sarah has recruited for a diverse range of roles and industries including trades and construction management.

Sarah commenced her recruitment career as an Internal Recruitment Consultant for an iconic Brisbane company in the Queensland Racing Industry. In this demanding, very fast paced and high pressured role Sarah had the challenging responsibility for volume recruitment (in excess of 200+) high caliber hospitality staff.

Moving into agency recruitment Sarah specialized in recruiting for the Queensland construction industry where she became a market leader in trade contract solutions. Sarah brings her trade background to Foundation Recruitment where she has expanded her portfolio to include white collar permanent solutions within commercial and residential construction whilst still keeping her finger on the pulse with contract solutions and trades.

Born in Melbourne, Sarah’s family relocated to sunny Queensland early on in life to escape the “four seasons” in one day that Melbourne is so famous for. Sarah is an honest and driven individual who has a passion for motor-sports and currently has an all original VL Calais which eventually she plans on using as a classic show car. She spends her spare time volunteering for the RSPCA and is involved with their national fundraisers. She also assists the Australian Red Cross with providing the homeless youth meals, another cause she is passionate about.

Sarah believes that a successful Recruitment Consultant is a “natural rapport builder”, who is dedicated to fostering relationships and spending time to truly understand the client’s business to ensure the right fit. She believes her own personal success in recruitment is attributed to her consultative style and genuine approach.

Jodie Hollowood
Jodie HollowoodMarketing Communications Manager
Having a successful career at Virgin Australia in both domestic and international travel, Jodie has a solid track record of providing exceptional customer service. With her experience of working with people from different cultures & backgrounds, she understands the importance of communicating effectively to your audience.

Jodie is responsible for all of Foundation Recruitment’s corporate marketing and communications functions. She manages all aspects of presentation content and design for our online marketing. In today’s digital age, it is imperative to review our branding strategies, however Jodie always maintains her fundamental belief of “customers’ needs must come first”, which remains at the heart of the business. This ethos has enabled us to communicate with our current and future candidates and clients effectively. Developing and maintaining all of our clients, talent networks and community partnerships is essential and the direct result is the rapid growth of our business.

Other tasks that keep Jodie busy include event planning and management, and developing and implementing marketing plans for the team’s individual projects.

When she’s not working on marketing strategies, Jodie enjoys spending her free time at the beautiful Sunshine Coast with her two young children.
