“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”

Each year Foundation Recruitment hosts the “Chat, Chew & Swirl” dinner bringing together construction industry leaders in a very relaxed and informal manner to enjoy fine food and wine and of course a good laugh ! This years event was a flying success entertaining eighteen client’s at the fine eatery, Moo Moo’s Brisbane.

We are lucky enough to have the one and only Alfie Langer host our night along with myself Paul Gay.

Needless to say, Alf entertains this list of industry heavy weights in his own unique style, one that puts a smile on the face of these men and removes them from their usual high pressured mind set for a few hours.  We do this to thank our established clients who are the life blood of our business but also to improve relationships with new clients in an informal relaxed setting.

Given this years event coincided with Men’s Health week, we registered as a fund raiser with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and requested a donation from our attendees towards research and finding a cure for this disease that affects so many of us.

We were blown away with the generosity of the room resulting in a total of $1480 being raised !

The whole room donated, most more than we requested! Each donators name went into a hat and the winner, Peter Glodic Director from Omni Group collected a personally signed Kangaroos jumper from Alf (thanks Alf for your generosity). With my father having suffered prostate cancer for the last six years, I was clearly blown away with this result towards a cause that’s so close to me.

Thanks to all that joined us on the night and I hope you were feeling better than I was the following morning….

Alf and I are already planning next year’s event so keep your eye on your email for the next invite.

*Special mention to Australian Boxing champ and World Kicking Boxing champ / Brisbane entrepreneur Shannon “Shaggy” King who also donated his time for the third year In a row to entertain our group in his unique and engaging style.
