Our client constructs capital improvements to existing infrastructure, as well as new standalone projects to defence and infrastructure sectors, with projects ranging in value from $5M - $30M.
Our client has been growing year by year as they continue to deliver outstanding work and projects across Australia. They currently have office locations in, Perth, Darwin, Adelaide & Brisbane.
About the role
This is a newly created position that reports to the Managing Director. The General Manager would play a key role within the senior leadership team and would be responsible for driving growth within the Defence, Infrastructure & Resources sectors nationally.
The objective of the General Manager role is to lead the way in securing and delivering new project opportunities, develop long term business strategies and to ensure objectives are achieved. The General Manager is also responsible for preparing financial reports for effective management & demonstrating operational effectiveness.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead management team to create the business's strategic plan
Further develop key client relationships within the Defence sector nationally utilising current experience and relationships.
Create new opportunities within Infrastructure and Resource sectors utilising current experience and relationships.
Strategic input and leadership
Represent and promote the company through stakeholder engagement, sponsorship and general communications
Manage stakeholder/contract risks
Monitor and control performance
Create and implement a marketing plan and activity calendar
Continually review and improve internal processes and systems
Oversee workforce planning, staff development, and recruitment
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will have:
Must have strong senior management/leadership, business acumen and people management experience (ideally 10 years combined)
Must have Principal Contractor / Client-Side / Consulting experience
Have proven experience in training, coaching, and developing teams
Have proven experience in driving teams to reach targets and KPI's
Quantifiable track record as a senior manager
Strong networks and relationships within the Defence, Infrastructure or Resources sector is highly regarded
