From the moment I called Foundation Recruitment, they were enthusiastic and extremely helpful. What I appreciated the most was they took the time to look a little deeper than just my CV. We tasked Foundation Recruitment with finding a suitable candidate to fill our estimating role. Our business group has a broad construction market base so our needs were quite demanding in terms of experience across industrial, commercial, refurbishment and light civil work. In addition we are a predominately design and construct business so we were not looking for a conventional quantity surveyor rather a cost planner that had capability to participate in the design process and assist in converting work. Foundation Recruitment found us this person. We are regionally based so recruitment from any capital city can be a difficult cultural shift and we found Foundation Recruitment sensitive to this. Paul Gay as director of the firm took a personal interest in the placement and managed the process for us including on site in our Cairns Office. A no nonsense approach in the Recruitment Sector is sometimes difficult to find so when we met with Paul a focus on our real needs for the role as opposed to a sales / post box placement from an existing candidate base was very refreshing. We would invite any perspective employer to engagement with Paul and the team for their recruitment needs and we will certainly be asking them to fill future roles for us.  

I first met Paul Gay in October 2014 when I applied for a role within a newly formed legal firm which Paul was assisting in the recruitment process. The application process was very smooth with Paul and his team at Foundation Recruitment keeping me informed at all times.

In my capacity as General Manager Human Resources Manager for Barclay Mowlem / Laing O’Rourke I first started dealing with Paul Gay in 2004. We used his services on a spasmodic basis whenever our internal team were having difficulty securing staff for projects and functional roles. In 2009 we contracted Paul through his company Foundation Recruitment, as an internal Consultant partnering with our Human Capital team to identify and secure senior staff for the business throughout Queensland and The Northern Territory. Paul worked closely with the General Managers for both the Building and Infrastructure teams securing leading talent across the region.This partnership was initially contracted for three months, due to the success of this exercise we extended Pauls contract for a further ten months. This success was primarily due to Paul’s ability to partner with our senior management in identifying leading talent in our market and then bringing them to the table for further discussions with our management team. Paul quickly adapted to working within our Human Capital team, this was through his ability to understand the challenges this team faced in regard to ensuring procedural processes were adhered to in attracting and securing suitable talent. I believe Paul’s firm is being considered for a third party preferred supplier agreement , given my experience with Paul over the last eight years I am comfortable in recommending him as a professional recruitment consultant with an extensive network who also appreciates the internal processes and objectives of a Human Resource team.
