We're delivering an 8–12-week pavement upgrade package in Roma , commencing mid to late June , and we're building a strong local crew of All Round Plant Operators and Civil Labourers who can step straight into a fast‑paced civil program.
This package includes pavement construction, trimming, compaction, haulage, and general earthworks , so we're chasing people who know their way around a civil site, understand production targets, and can work safely and efficiently within a mixed crew.
You'll be paid above Award rates + penalties , with consistent hours and the opportunity to secure ongoing work on future packages for high performers.
All Round Operators
Operators will support all stages of the pavement program, including bulk earthworks, trimming, compaction, water management, and general site support.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating across multiple machines to support pavement construction
- Roller operations for compaction and final trim
- Watercart operation (HR licence required) for dust suppression and moisture conditioning
- Excavator operation for trimming, loading, and general earthworks
- Supporting ground crews when required
- Completing daily pre‑starts, basic maintenance, and safety paperwork
- Working to production targets while maintaining safe work practices
- Roller ticket - essential
- HR licence - essential (watercart experience required)
- Excavator ticket - essential
- Additional plant tickets (Loader, Skid Steer, Grader, Dozer) are highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience on civil projects (pavements preferred)
- Ability to work within a structured safety environment
Civil Labourers
Labourers will support operators and supervisors across all pavement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- General labouring across pavement and earthworks
- Spotting for machinery and assisting operators
- Hand tools, shovelling, raking, and site clean‑up
- Assisting with compaction and material placement
- Supporting water management and traffic control (if ticketed)
- Maintaining a clean, safe work area
- White Card - essential
- Previous civil labouring experience
- Roller or other plant tickets highly regarded
- Physically fit, reliable, and able to work in hot, dusty conditions
- Strong awareness of safety and communication on site
