We’re seeking an experienced Civil Foreman to lead day‑to‑day operations on a major civil package. This role suits someone who takes ownership, runs a tight site, and knows how to push productivity without compromising safety.
If the job runs well, it’s because you’re on top of it. If it doesn’t — you’ll know exactly why.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Site Supervision
- Lead and supervise crews across excavation, compaction, capping, haulage and general civil works.
- Manage operators across excavators, skid steers, rollers, and articulated dump trucks.
- Maintain safe, efficient, and spec‑compliant delivery — no shortcuts.
- Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications accurately.
- Deliver works in line with ITPs, QA requirements, and environmental controls.
- Monitor productivity and adjust labour/plant to keep the program on track.
- Enforce WHS requirements and company procedures.
- Run daily pre‑starts, toolbox talks, and task briefings.
- Identify hazards early and stop unsafe work immediately — non‑negotiable.
- Liaise with Project Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors, and hospital‑precinct stakeholders.
- Coordinate deliveries, subcontractors, and sequencing of works in a live‑environment setting.
- Report daily progress, delays, risks, and issues clearly.
- Ensure compaction, levels, materials, and workmanship meet required standards.
- Assist with QA documentation, testing, and inspections.
- Prevent rework — if you’re redoing work, you’re costing money.
What You Need
- Proven experience as a Civil Foreman or Leading Hand in civil construction.
- Strong background in:
- Bulk earthworks
- Landfill rehabilitation (highly regarded)
- Soil stabilisation (preferred)
