About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join the team on a key remote infrastructure project on Lihir Island, involving culvert installation in a heavy construction setting. This role is ideal for safety professionals who bring a strong understanding of heavy industry safety standards, and who are comfortable implementing and monitoring strict HSE protocols in remote locations.
Role Details
- FIFO to Lihir Island – accommodation provided
- Open to applicants across Australia
- Roster: 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off
- Competitive salary packages tailored to experience, with earnings starting from $150K + (AUD)
- Work within a dedicated site team delivering critical civil works
- Promote and maintain a proactive safety culture across the project
- Implement and monitor site-specific HSE management plans
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Ensure compliance with local and company HSE regulations
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and ongoing safety training
- Investigate incidents and support continuous safety improvement
- Champion a strong safety-first culture across all site activities
- Proven experience in a similar HSE role within mining, oil & gas, or heavy civil construction.
- Strong understanding of remote site safety challenges and regulations
- Cert IV or Diploma in WHS (or equivalent qualifications)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and foster a culture of accountability
- Previous FIFO or remote construction experience highly desirable
