Foundation Labour Hire is recruiting a HSE Advisor/Safety Advisor for a long-term Defence Construction project in Darwin, Northern Territory (NT) working with an experienced Defence contractor.

The Client has a long history of successfully delivering significant defence projects globally.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to critical defence infrastructure and gain experience on International JV Projects. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of this high profile project constructed across a extensive program.

Candidates must be able to obtain Defence Security Clearance/Defence Common Access Card

About the Role    
Supporting the Safety Manager, the HSE Advisor/Safety Advisor will provide "hands on” support on a large-scale civil construction project. You’ll be responsible for ensuring WHS compliance, supporting site teams, and embedding a proactive safety culture across all stages of delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks
  • Monitor and report on safety performance and lead incident investigations
  • Implement, review and improve HSE systems, SWMS, and procedures
  • Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and compliance across all site operations
Requirements:
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum), Cert V or Diploma desirable
  • Civil construction experience essential – earthworks, plant operations, or structures
  • Proven track record managing site-based HSE for large scale Civil Construction Projects
  • Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and influence safe outcomes
  • Sound knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and Codes of Practice
  • White Card, valid driver’s license, and right to work in Australia
Desirable:
  • Experience with civil plant/machinery operations
  • First Aid Certificate and ICAM investigation training
  • Exposure to NT/QLD-based Construction project
