Working as part of an experienced civil and earthworks crew, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a range of heavy mobile plant across bulk earthworks and mine infrastructure activities.
You may be required to operate:
- Excavators - various sizes
- Dozers
- Graders
- Front-end loaders
- Articulated dump trucks
- Water carts
- Rollers and compactors
- Other mobile plant as required
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy mobile plant safely and efficiently
- Complete bulk cut and fill operations
- Excavation, loading and material movement
- Road construction and formation
- Spreading, trimming and levelling materials
- Batter and bench construction
- General mine-site earthworks
- Assist with haul road construction and maintenance
- Complete daily pre-starts and plant inspections
- Identify and report mechanical or safety issues
- Work to production targets and project schedules
- Follow mine-site safety and environmental procedures
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, surveyors and other operators
- Work as part of a high-performing earthworks crew
To be successful, you will have:
- Proven experience operating multiple types of heavy mobile plant
- Strong bulk earthworks experience
- Previous mining, quarrying or major civil construction experience
- Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and other site personnel
- Strong understanding of mine-site safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
- Good communication skills
- Ability to meet production requirements without compromising safety
- Ability to pass required medical, drug and alcohol screening
- Ability to complete all required mine-site inductions
