Join the team at Channel Island Power Station and play a hands-on role in maintaining critical generation assets that power the Northern Territory.
As a Maintenance Assistant, you'll support skilled tradespeople, contribute to safe and efficient operations, and help keep the plant running smoothly every day.
Key duties include:
- Assisting trades personnel with inspections, isolations, lubrication, testing, and defect rectification.
- Maintaining cleanliness of plant, equipment, and vehicles.
- Collecting spare parts across Darwin.
- Supporting both trade and non-trade staff as needed.
- Communicating effectively with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Using computerised systems for operational tasks.
- Adhering to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Proven ability to assist trades and operational staff.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience working within a Permit to Work system and independently - preferred not essential.
- Competent computer skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to plan tasks.
- Forklift, overhead crane, or MR licence.
- Confined space training (or willingness to undertake).
- Welding skills.
