Cost Control Administrator - Darwin (Winellie)
 
Our client is seeking a versatile and proactive Cost Control Administrator to join their team in a full-time, office-based role located in Winnellie.
 
This company is considered one of the larger locally owned plumbing contractors operating in the Northern Territory, particularly within Darwin's commercial, Defence and maintenance sectors.
 
They are not a "small residential plumber" — they operate more like a mid-sized commercial trade contractor with capability across:
  • Commercial plumbing projects
  • Defence infrastructure works
  • Civil plumbing
  • Reactive and planned maintenance
  • 24/7 emergency response
  • Remote/rural NT works
  • Government and industrial projects
Their project portfolio includes:
  • Bradshaw Defence Project
  • Mt Bundey Defence Project
  • Berrimah Farm
  • The Midway redevelopment
This position will suit someone who enjoys working across multiple areas of the business, with responsibilities spanning project-specific cost control, accounts administration and broader operational support functions.
 
The role is ideal for candidates coming from commercial construction, mining, infrastructure, oil & gas or industrial project environments.
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Project cost tracking, forecasting and budget monitoring
  • Assisting Project Managers with cost reporting and financial administration
  • Processing invoices, purchase orders and subcontractor claims
  • Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions across the wider business
  • Maintaining accurate project cost records and documentation
  • Assisting with month-end reporting and financial reconciliations
  • Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders regarding project costs and accounts matters
  • Providing general administrative and operational support across the business as required
The successful candidate will ideally bring:
  • Previous experience in project cost control, project administration or finance administration within commercial construction, oil & gas, mining or industrial sectors
  • Exposure to AP/AR and general accounts processes
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The ability to work across multiple projects and business functions simultaneously
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude with willingness to support broader business operations
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with both operational and finance teams
This is a permanent, full-time position based in the office in Winellie.
The business offers flexibility around start and finish times, however candidates will be required to complete standard 8-hour office days.
