We have been retained exclusively to source a Project Engineer (Services) to play a key role in delivering a circa $200M+ complex Defence project. Reporting directly to Senior Management, this role will have a strong focus on coordinating and delivering all building services packages, with an approximate program of 2.5 years.
The Opportunity
This isn’t a back-office engineering role. You’ll be at the forefront of delivery, driving the services package (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, fire) from design coordination through to commissioning.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership, subcontractors, and client-side stakeholders to ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all building services packages on site
- Drive design coordination across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fire disciplines
- Monitor and manage subcontractor performance, programme, and quality
- Work closely with construction teams to ensure buildability and sequencing
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of services
- Ensure compliance with Defence standards, safety, and quality systems
- Contribute to cost control, procurement, and forecasting
You’re a technically strong Project Engineer who enjoys being close to delivery and solving problems on site.
To be considered, you will have:
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical or similar)
- 5+ years’ experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor
- Proven experience delivering services packages on major projects ($50M+)
- Strong understanding of MEP coordination and commissioning processes
- Ability to manage subcontractors and drive programme outcomes
- Solid communication skills and stakeholder management ability
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent resident (required for Defence clearance)
