About the Role
In this position, you’ll be instrumental in the practical, day-to-day implementation of HSE systems on-site. Working closely with project teams, you’ll provide guidance, conduct inspections, and champion a strong safety culture at all levels. This is a role where you’ll have a real impact—helping to shape safe work practices and ensuring compliance with legislation and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement & Monitor: Support the roll-out and monitoring of HSE management systems across multiple projects.
- On-Site Support: Partner with project managers, supervisors, and crews to provide practical HSE advice.
- Inspections & Audits: Carry out site inspections, hazard identification, and audits to maintain compliance and drive improvement.
- Incident Management: Assist with investigations, reporting, and corrective actions.
- Training & Inductions: Deliver site inductions and contribute to HSE training programs.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate safety records and provide input into HSE performance analysis.
- Promote Safety Culture: Lead by example to build and maintain a strong, positive safety culture.
- Compliance: Ensure alignment with WHS legislation, codes of practice, and policies.
- 3–5+ years’ experience as an HSE Advisor within the construction industry (commercial, civil, industrial, government, or residential).
- WHS/OHS qualification (Cert IV, Diploma or higher).
- Strong working knowledge of NT WHS legislation and Australian Standards.
- Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to influence and engage site personnel.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Relevant certifications (First Aid, ICAM, White Card) are highly regarded.
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
