About the Role
As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of a diverse range of government vehicles. Working within strict safety and compliance standards, you’ll ensure operational readiness and reliability across the fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on light and/or heavy vehicles
- Perform fault-finding and mechanical assessments
- Complete maintenance logs and compliance documentation
- Adhere to safety, security, and quality control standards
- Work efficiently to meet contract timelines and performance requirements
- Liaise with supervisors, government representatives, and team members as required
- Trade qualification: Certificate III in Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 2–3 years relevant workshop or fleet experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic systems
- Ability to work within structured compliance frameworks
- Current driver’s licence
- Experience working on government, defence, or commercial fleet contracts
- Exposure to heavy vehicles, plant machinery, or emergency service fleet
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
