WHS Advisor – 3/1 Roster | Remote NT Community | Darwin Based

Join a team delivering essential infrastructure to remote Northern Territory communities.

Foundation Labour Hire is seeking an experienced Work Health & Safety (WHS) Advisor to join our team on a 3 weeks on / 1 week off roster , travelling from Darwin to a remote community to support the successful delivery of a significant government construction project.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive safety professional who enjoys working closely with project teams to foster a positive safety culture while ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and project requirements.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for providing onsite WHS leadership and support across all construction activities. You will work collaboratively with supervisors, subcontractors, and the client to ensure the project is delivered safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across the project.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and workplace observations.
  • Facilitate pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Assist with the development and review of SWMS, risk assessments and safety documentation.
  • Investigate incidents, hazards and near misses, identifying corrective actions.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with WHS requirements.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and reporting.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to site personnel on safe work practices.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, client requirements and company policies.
  To be successful, you will have:
  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum).
  • Previous experience in a WHS Advisor role within the construction or civil industry.
  • Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and risk management.
  • Experience working on remote or FIFO projects (highly regarded).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • White Card.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (desirable).
